The Business Journal Serving the Greater Triad Area honors software quality assurance executive for business and community leadership
Greensboro, N.C. and Stamford, Conn. - Feb. 27, 2006 - Questcon Technologies, a leading provider of innovative software Quality Assurance (QA) and process improvement solutions and a division of Howard Systems International, Inc. (HSI), today announced vice president of sales, Chris Laney, was awarded by The Business Journal Serving the Greater Triad Area as one of its "40 Leaders Under Forty." The award recognizes business leaders in their field under the age of 40 who also exhibit exemplary service within the Triad community. Laney received the honors at an awards ceremony hosted by The Business Journal on February 23.

Under Laney's leadership, Questcon has become a recognized industry leader, helping hundreds of organizations increase business performance. In 2005 alone, Laney directed the Questcon sales team that added 12 new customers and celebrated its most profitable year to date, posting a 23 percent increase over 2004. His leadership extends past the office and into the Triad community where Laney is actively involved in the performing arts. He just concluded a two-year run as Board President for the Community Theatre of Greensboro, a non-profit organization that develops original, esteem-building productions performed throughout area schools as well as large musicals in Greensboro's Carolina Theatre and other venues. Laney also teamed up with the Triad Indie Film Network to co-produce a public service announcement contest for the Champion Coalition, a Triad organization that raises public awareness for youth living with domestic violence.
"It is a high honor to be recognized for my business and community affiliations," said Laney. "I've worked hard to strike a balance within my professional career along with giving back to the community, having a vision for a better workplace as well as a better quality of life within the Triad."
Laney has supported numerous other charitable foundations including the Ashley Fister Cole Foundation for melanoma research and he also helped establish a mentoring program within Questcon that paired employees with disadvantaged students at an area elementary school. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and recently earned his pilot's license.
